Prorogation

Prorogation is a fancy word for ‘closing ceremonies.’ Traditionally the Premier-elect and Leader-elect of the Opposition announce their Front Bench for the upcoming year, the winner of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Bursary is announced, gifts are presented to the outgoing Front Four, and the Lieutenant Governor reads a Prorogation Speech which has been prepared by the Premier.

The Session will be declared prorogued until next year.

Willingly and cheerfully doing more than that which is our duty to do.
